1) Who we are

SquadStats (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides tools for recording amateur football matches, tracking player statistics, and generating leaderboards (including a Ballon d’Or Index). These Terms govern your use of the website and app (the “Service”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2) Eligibility & accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
• You are responsible for your credentials and all activity on your account.
• Group owners can add/remove members and control group visibility.

3) Your content

You (or your group) retain ownership of player/match data you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, and display that content to operate/improve the Service (e.g., compute stats, show leaderboards, maintain backups). Do not upload unlawful or infringing content.

4) Stats & leaderboards

Leaderboards and rankings are informational and depend on your group’s inputs and rules. We do not guarantee accuracy or fitness for any particular purpose.

5) Subscriptions & billing

• Some features are “Pro.” Trials may be available.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled.
• Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the current period.
• Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable once a billing period begins.

6) Acceptable use

• No abuse, disruption, reverse engineering, or bypassing safeguards.
• No unlawful, harassing, hateful, or privacy-violating content.
• No manipulation of stats or votes that harms others or platform integrity.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

7) Intellectual property

The Service (software, design, brand assets) is owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to use the Service as intended.

8) Third-party services

We rely on third parties to operate the Service (e.g., Stripe, Supabase). Their terms and privacy notices apply in addition to ours.

9) Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim all warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11) Changes

We may update these Terms. A new “Effective date” will be posted. Continued use means you accept the changes.

12) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with exclusive jurisdiction of its courts (unless mandatory law states otherwise).
